The author of the book of James simply identifies himself as “a servant of God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Most likely he is the Lord’s brother, who came to faith after the resurrection then served as a wise leader in the Jerusalem church. James can be viewed as a series of short sermons that the author packaged together into a short letter.
This fall, during the months of September, October and November, we will study how faith is presented in the book of James.
